On July 28th, 2007, the remains of an unknown sailor of the CSS Alabama were interred at the Magnolia Cemetary in Mobile, AL. The SOCV sponsored a first-class memorial event in his honor. The participants marched the two miles from the corner of Government and Royal Streets to the cemetary.

Civil War Reenactors recreate the Battle of Day's Gap at Blountsville, Alabama. The original battle took place on May 3rd, 1863 during Streight's Cavalry Raid into Northern Alabama.
